Nash Knifed by Punisher

WWE superstar playing villain accidentally stabbed in crucial fight scene.

It takes a lot of brawn to play the muscle-bound villain in the latest Marvel-to-movie blockbuster, The Punisher. Just ask WWE superstar Kevin Nash who stars as "the Russian" in the upcoming film. Little did he realize that taking on this role would also result in being physically stabbed by a knife during the process of shooting the film. In a bizarre Hollywood accident, reports from the set indicate the actor and WWE star Kevin Nash was accidentally stabbed by Punisher actor Thomas Jane during the shooting of a knife fight scene. The word from the set is that Nash, who performs all of his own stunts, was so pumped up for the performance that he didn't even realize that he had actually been physically stabbed in the process. Though bad news for Nash, this does make for good news for Punisher fans as we can now anticipate an intense fight scene between the two once the film opens to theaters later this year.

Mick Foley was on the Don and Mike show today and had lots to say. He was
on for about 1/2 an hour. Here is a recap (very Brief, I was more
interesting in listening then writing things down).

- He pretty much confirmed that he would be having a match at wresltemania
with Randy Orton

- At Raw on Monday he actually did punch himself in the face causing
himself to bleed. He had tried this before but this was the first time he
was able to make himself bleed.

- His wife thought it was sexy!

- He is losing weight (wants to be just under 300 pounds) for his match.

- He then went on to talk about politics. And that by order of elimination
he is voting for Kerry.

_ He spoke about Bush and that he doesn't like him as president but respect
him as a person because he seems to really care about the troops overseas
even going as far as to visit them in the hospital.

- Says he would hang out with Bush if he wasn't president.

- Mick himself drives sometimes for 8 hours to visit troops in the hospital
when they come home.

- He has gone to his Congressman and had a meeting about the state of
schools in his area.

- Don and Mike asked how the sales were for his "fag" book. Foley said
sales were ok in the U.S. but that the book was doing very well in the U.K.
and that it is up for an award there.

- They then plugged his new 6 hour dvd collection and made fun of Al Snow
(of course).

- After the interview Don and Mike discussed how Mick Foley is one of the
best guys to have on the show because he is honest when it comes to
wrestling and that he can talk about anything from home life to politics.
He's not just a dumb wrestler.

Over all the interview was awesome. Mick Foley sounded intelligent (as
always) and had interesting things to say about wrestling, politics and Al
Snow.

Just doing my part in helping the website since you guys (and gals) are my
daily stop. Keep up the good work.

Chris Chisum with the Voice of Wrestling had the opportunity to talk with WWE’s
Hardcore Holly leading into his match with Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble. You
can listen to the interview in its entirety by visiting www.voiceofwrestling.com,
plus be sure to check out other interviews with wrestling’s top stars including
Stone Cold Steve Austin, Ric Flair, Kurt Angle, Dustin Runnels a.k.a. Goldust,
Sable, Rob Van Dam, Chris Jericho, Sid Vicious, and many more!

Early conversations were all about the Royal Rumble, Holly’s neck injury, and his
return match against Brock Lesnar. Bob didn’t think he was going to be able to
get his hands on Brock when he came back from his injury, so it feels “pretty damn
good” now that he has been given the opportunity. “What a better way to come
back to the WWE in a World Title match at Royal Rumble”. He doesn’t discredit
Brock though and does realize his talent as a professional wrestler. “It’s
obvious he’s [Lesnar] got what it takes because he’s been our World Champion for
several, several months now. The guy’s good.”

Chris explains how “paying dues” is an overused expression in the business today
and asks whether Hardcore Holly feels it is necessary to have the large background
and experience or whether that theory is overrated. “I think it’s important,”
Holly responds, “because nowadays, they’ve got guys coming in that take the
business for granted that weren’t really wrestling fans.” Tough Enough is an
example Bob uses describing the lack of respect some of these young guys have when
they come in to the business. “They haven’t paid their dues; they don’t
respect the guys that have and they don’t belong where they’re at.”

As far as Tough Enough and whether there should have been a fourth season, Holly
feels that there are some pros and cons to the idea. It was good entertainment, did
a good rating for MTV, and if they did another one, he would like to do it if he
isn’t involved in anything, but there’s a lot of stuff that he disagrees with.
“Some of the cast members that do win that clearly aren’t in the same league
that we are, they don’t have to pay their dues. Yeah, for ten weeks, they go
through a lot of training and stuff like that,” he explains, “but they didn’t
go through the years of trying to make it, sleeping in your car, or driving for
three, four, five, six hours and making no money. Some of these guys that are in
the business now just have everything handed to them and I disagree with that. That
kind of irritates me a lot because there’s some of the guys in our locker room
that are like that and believe me, if I get a chance to be in the ring with them, I
will eat them alive.”

“He was just a silly bastard,” Bob says in remembrance of his former tag team
partner and friend, Michael Lockwood a.k.a. Crash Holly, who died this past
November. Bob says that he is mostly saddened by the thought of Michael’s
daughter living without her dad, who he loved so much and she adored him too.
“Everybody’s got a time to go and obviously it was his time, but I just feel so,
so bad for his little girl.”

Besides the title match between himself and Brock Lesnar at the upcoming Royal
Rumble (interview was recorded prior to the event), Hardcore Holly sees more title
matches for himself in the future. Going to Wrestlemania as the Champion is his
main goal and that’s what he’s hoping to do some day. “I’ve obtained every
goal that I’ve set out to do and this is the only one I’ve got left. Although
he doesn’t mind having a tag team partner and working in that division, he likes
to do things on his own and would prefer staying in the one-on-one scene for now.
“I don’t need no help”.
