I was watching VH1's "Best week ever" and Stephanie
McMahon was on the show. She talked about the word of
the week and "The butterfly effect"
I know you guys reported on Jeicho being on the show,
but I haven't seen anything about Steph.
Foley was on the show too.

Steve Austin was a guest on Danny Baker's breakfast show in the UK on BBC
London local radio station 94.9FM last Wednesday 21st January. He spoke
about his career and the upcoming Royal Rumble. You can hear the whole of
Steve's segment on the show at:

Hey guys. Just thought I'd let you all know how the signing went. I was
actually the first person in line - I'd been there since 4.445am, yet the
signing did not start till 6pm.

There was a lot of initial confusion over whether or not we would be allowed
to queue up inside the shopping mall. After a lengthy deliberation beyween
security and staff they ushered us in the building corridors and had us line
up. As the crowds buit up were were moved into the shop where the signing
was to be held. Well actually only I and about 12 others were in the shop
for the whole time until tickets for the signing were handed out. We were
marked with numbers from 1 to 500. Hehe, I still have the '1' on my hand. By
2.30pm the 500 tickets had been allocated and tons of people continued to
ask for them only to be turned away. One guy who had been there for a VERY
long time didn't receive one. So being the KIND person I am, I gave him one
fo my tickets (I had two for my two books) and he gave me £20 for which I
never asked for.

As the time for Austin's appearance drew nearer I was approached by a
photographer who was working for both The Sun and The Daily Star (UK
tabloids). He wanted a photo of myself (as I was the first person in line
and this guy who looked like he could be Austin's brother, to be pictured
for the tabloids. Should be in the papers tomorrow!! About 15 minutes before
Austin was due to appear we were told that there would not be allowed any
photographs of Austin posing with the fans, you just had to make do with
taking a photo of him by himself. Man did this kick up an uproar!

We were moved around the shop a lot more and finally when Austin did arrive
at 6.25pm he was welcomed with a HUGE cheer! I told the shop staff that I
wanted the three disabled children to be allowed to go first so Austin
signed their stuff. One kid asked him something which I couldn't hear but
Austin replied with 'Just watch the Royal Rumble and you'll see! I've just
given you a BIG preview to the Rumble (LAUGH)!'

I then walked upto Steve, handed him my book and told him how much of honor
it was to finally meet him after 11 years. He said thank you and then I
asked him if he would mind signing the top of my leg/side thigh, as I wanted
to get it tattooed tomorrow moning. He replied with 'Yeah sure. No problem'
and then signed my leg with 'Stone Cold Steve Austin' I got a few photos and
the press guy got one of me too WITH Austin!!!!! I'm still on a high from it
all!

As there were hundreds of people still outside the shop who were banging on
the shop windows, we had to be escorted through the back entrance of the
shop. God it was crazy! Well I've just got back after having no sleep for
two days. I'm off too see Austin on MTV's TRL tomorrow afternoon and
hopefully I'll be able to chat with him during and ad break or something and
get to show him my tattoo ;) I was told by TOO many people there today I was
definatley the biggest SCSA fan they'd ever seen and were vastly impressed
with my incredible knowledge on him and wreslting in general. HAHA. Nice
one. Just gotta say that the staff and management at WH Smiths went beyond
their duties to make sure we were all treated very well. THANKS GUYS.
Finally, one member of Austin's WWE entorage was very cool the other two
were just really anal. Oh well....I'm outta here. I'm baked.

Stone Cold Steve Austin Book Signing At 'Virgin Megastore' Picadilly Circus Friday
23rd January 2004 6pm

I had earlier recieved tickets to this signing this morning which I requested last
week from the Virgin Website. Imagine me marking out big time. Got there at 5pm for
the 6pm signing, queued up and struck up an immediate conversation with a few
wrestling smarks. There was already big queue gathered outside the building. This
event was strictly ticket only meaning the first 250 people who registered at the
website were allocated two tickets each and I happened to be one of these lucky
people. The tickets were given in the form of wristbands and some people who had
come from the other side of the country without tickets bought them of others for
like £40 which was quite a harsh ripoff but worth it I guess . The WWE Staff started
filming us and told the crowd to give a huge roar, they did that about 3 times They
started us letting in at about half past 5 just before I entered the building I and
a few other smarks nearly got interviewed by WWE Staff about the Royal Rumble but to
my dismay the security started saying move along so I missed that opportunity of
saying "BENOIT UK IS ROOTING YOU ON". Anyway we all got led to the bottom level of
the store and they kept checking if we had the wristbands on. People who didn't
already have the book 'Stone Cold Truth' could buy it for £17.99, I got it of amazon
fourmonths back for £14.99. Anyway WWE Euroshop Shopzone staff started giving us
catalogues which appropriately had Steve Austin on the cover, another thing he could
sign for us! They started playing the WWE Originals tracks and the Austin comedy
segments got a good laugh and put everyone in good spirits, and people seemed to
like Trish and Kurt's songs as well. Stone Cold was announced as coming in 5 minutes
time at about 630pm and everyone started "believing the hype". Then they said 2
minutes.......1 minute and then Austin's Music hit and everyone started going crazy
and he got a huge pop, he did the finger pose and got on the mic and started saying
how are we all doing and started doing the "WHAT?" rant where he would say something
like "Had Some Beer" and we would say WHAT? "Had Some Red Wine" WHAT? "Had Some
White Wine" WHAT?. It was so surreal seeing Steve Austin and I was speechless after
the WHAT? Rant. Austin ended the Rant with "and thats the Bottom Line" and everyone
joined in with "Cos Stone Cold Said So". Everyone was marking out and after that
people were saying "AUSTIN" "AUSTIN" "AUSTIN". The atmosphere was electric. Austin
then said he was pissed off that he wasnt on the cover of WWE Originals and we
started booing, and he said thats what he said to the production.Austin got on the
mic said that he wants to make everyone happy and that to quickly take a photo,
there would be no time to pose and he would sign anything official. They started
playing WWE Originals again and the signing started. I was then in the queue with
the other smarks till about 715pm which was when I met the "toughest son of a bitch
alive" and he signed my WWE Euroshop Catalogue and the inside cover of the
Autobiography he shook my hand and I said "thanks for everything you've done towards
the wrestling industry" and he said "I really appreciate that and hope you do well
and see you some time". I then took a photo of my friend and we went out through the
station entrance. Think the event lasted till about 815pm judging by the crowd.
Overall it was a fantastic experience the atmosphere was electrifyin, I lost my
voice and I will always savour this opportunity to meet a legend who redefined
wrestling.

Stone Cold Steve Austin Autograph Signing-Friday 23rd January 2004
by Samuel Ajilore

I was in attendance at the Stone Cold book signing yesterday and it was
excellent. There were so many people, despite the fact that it was ticket only
(which were won through a "competition" and only 500 were available). I got there
half and hour early to find quite a long queue which grew even larger and
those were just the competition winners! While waiting there a camera crew were
present telling us to scream and get hyped when filmed, we were also told that
we might be shown on WWE programming (most likely international version of
Heat). So we finally got in when it was supposed to start; Steve Austin was not
there, and did not arrive until a good 35-40mins after he was supposed to. When
he did arrive the packed store erupted as he made his way up to the signing
podium/stage backed by his theme music. He then got on the mic, much to the fans
delight, and delivered some of his famous phrases whilst thanking them for
coming; us fans went into a "WHAT!" frenzy.

Steve Austin seemed to be enjoying interacting with the many fans in
attendance and was eager to sign whatever was put in front of him. The event gathered
a lot of attention from the general public, whom a lot of were wrestling fans
and wanted to meet Austin, but did not have tickets; the store staff started
allowing them to come in to meet Austin and many of them were still queuing
outside in the rain to get in the building when I was leaving. I don't know
whether it was Austin who suggested that he wants to sign every autograph that
people wanted, even if it meant staying there longer (something I know he and
Hogan have done in recent times in the US), but it seemed like that was the case.

Overall the signing was great and proved that a high profile WWE superstar
can still draw a very large crowd.
