Well let me say that the reason there were no velocity
results last week was do to email troubles. Take a
sigh of relief and know that I wasn't fired. Last
weeks question will carry over to this week as well.
The question was what does Haku/Meng do for a living
now that he retired from wrestling and lives in
Florida. Remember email me your answer along with a
site you wish to plug. Onto velocity! Wait. I want
to point out that I read the review of WWE originals
from the rolling stone and not only did it get one
star. They also said it could be the worst CD of
2004.
This being the first month of 2004 that has to
hurt WWE. So don't buy it!!!
Ultimo Dragon vs. Shannon Moore
Match is pretty basic stuff. Ultimo start things off
with his signature kicks. Throughout most of the
first half of the match Ultimo has control until he
tries a move off the corner which Moore counters.
From here on Moore works over Ultimo wearing him down
with some submission moves. Moore tries for the win
when he hits a cross body block from the top rope
except Dragon counters with a dropkick to his chest.
Both men struggle to get up Moore gets up first and
tries a powerbomb, which Ultimo counters with a
hurricanrana. From there they both exchange pins back
and forth.
Finally Moore sends Dragon to the ropes
and Ultimo hits an Asai moonsault in the ring. From
there it's the Asai DDT. Lights out.
Winner: Ultimo Dragon
2004 Royal Rumble Qualifying Match
Matt Morgan vs. Orlando Jordan
For some reason General Rection predicts Orlando
Jordan. Shut up Bill. I don't want to call it a
squash because it was a long match by velocity
standards meaning over 5 minutes. Morgan hit a lot of
semi power moves like a side slam or what have you and
Jordan kept kicking out of them. Oh I forgot. Listen
to Orlando Jordan's theme. You can clearly hear a
small crowd roar dubbed into his theme. I guess him
being an ex boxer and being trained by Rocky Johnson
just wasn't enough to get this guy over. Anyway
eventually the newest velocity squasher Matt Morgan
gets the win with a powerbomb.
Just once I would like
the velocity main event to be a tag match between A
Train and Sean O'Haire vs. Matt Morgan and Rhyno. You
know the velocity squashers of yesterday meets the
velocity squasher of today. Almost like Hogan vs.
Rock, except a lot less people would care.
Winner and ENTERING THE ROYAL RUMBLE: Matt Morgan
SD Clip: All the Eddie and Chavo stuff. I hate how
WWE is making this out to be their first meeting.
Eddie seemed so angry that he had to fight Chavo.
Hello?! He fought Chavo in WCW plenty of times.
Remember the Eddie Guerrero is my favorite wrestler
shirt? Remember Pepe, Chavo's wooden horse? Ok so
the buildup for this match is 10x better but its not
they're first meeting.
Billy Kidman vs. Arch Kincaid
The following match recap is written by Matt Zylbert:
To our match now as we get some basics to start, with
Kidman gaining the early advantage after a takedown.
Despite receiving a knee, Kidman is able to baseball
slide through Arch and take him back down with a
tilt-a-whirl head scissors. He is unable to follow-up,
however, as Kidman misses with a flying corner charge,
and Arch capitalizes with a back suplex. "2.5!" shouts
Kincaid after the ref only counted a 2. A bodyslam
and elbow drop later gets Kincaid a one count, so he
Irish-whips Kidman hard into the corner, causing him
to a fall. He follows with a snapmare that leads into
Velocity's most frequently used hold, the
bow-and-arrow submission. I believe Matt Hardy, who
started using it the most, started that trend. Come
to think of it the chinlock is more used but the bow
and arrow is a close second. Kidman gets out of the
hold, but as he attempts an Irish-whip, Kincaid
counters and scores with a backbreaker for another 2.5
Kincaid presses his boot against the back of Kidman
now, before working a modified backbreaker. He follows
with a bodyslam and then goes right to the chinlock,
(see it is the most used twice tonight) to which
Kidman elbows out of. Kidman capitalizes with an elbow
in the corner, allowing him to perform his tornado
bulldog, and both men are down. Kidman seems to be
pulling away as he hits a clothesline and a backdrop
for two. Arch comes back with a powerslam out of the
corner for a near fall, and then repeatedly recites,
"Come on, baby!" while waiting for Kidman to get back
up. Arch misses a clothesline, and after bouncing off
the ropes, Kidman clocks him with his dropkick.
Kincaid's down for the count so Kidman drags him to
the corner, where he barely hits [again] the Shooting
Star Press to pick up the victory. It's actually scary
when Kidman does the SSP because you never know where
he's going to hit you, let alone if he's going to hit
you at all.
Winner: Billy Kidman
Clip from SD: The wash your mouth out with soap match.
Wow from velocity squasher to SD main event loser.
Quite a jump. And no I don't hate Rhyno so don't
email me telling me I do.
Bradshaw vs. A-Train
Bradshaw wins with a clothesline.
If you think I'm going to recap these guys your wrong.
But really why not the RR qualifying match in the
main event? Who cares that A Train bet Bradshaw a few
weeks ago. At one point in everyone's career A Train
has beaten you. Even Kane lost his IC title to
Albert. My other recap will also be posted today as
well.
